Summary

The Sports and Activities Coordinator (Community Service Internship) will play a crucial role in organizing and executing a diverse range of activities for young children of various age levels. This internship provides invaluable experience in youth development, event planning, and program coordination. The intern will assist in creating engaging and age-appropriate sports, outdoor activities, and educational trips, contributing to the academy's commitment to fostering well-rounded development.

Duties

Program Development

• Assist in planning and organizing age-appropriate sports activities for children of different age groups.
• Develop and implement engaging outdoor activities, such as nature walks, playground games, and team-building exercises.
• Research and coordinate educational trips to museums, parks, and other learning destinations.
• Create summer camp activity schedules tailored to children’s interests by age.

Safety and Supervision

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities and trips.
• Implement appropriate safety protocols and guidelines.
• Supervise children during activities, providing guidance and support.
• Assist in training volunteers.

Administrative Support

• Assist in the preparation of activity budgets and expense reports.
• Help to create and distribute activity-related communications.
• Perform other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a student in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university.
• Interest in youth development and recreational activities.
• Experience working with children of various ages (preferred).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for planning engaging activities.
• Basic knowledge of sports rules and outdoor activities.
• Reliable transportation.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience coaching or tutoring younger individuals in sports or activities is a plus.
