Job Description

Job Summary: The Pump Specialist will install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial centrifugal, diaphragm, gear, and reciprocating pumps plus related rotating pump equipment used onsite at a chemical manufacturing plant in the Baytown area. Local candidates only.

In This Role, You Will:

· Assemble, disassemble, install, replace, and maintain a variety of pumps onsite, related equipment and parts for company assets safely and efficiently.

· Install, calibrate, and run tests to identify and repair problematic parts for pumps, rotating equipment and machinery, make temporary repairs as needed, install new parts and pieces for both fixed and rotating equipment.

· Inspect and investigate pump parts, failure, and malfunctions to determine root cause and recommend revisions to improve performance and system reliability that support 24/7 continuous operation for a process safety management (PSM) facility. 

· Assist with the development and implementation of company preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and pump-related training to improve reliability of the asset, reduce unplanned stop work and shutdown issues.

· Develop pump maintenance and reliability strategy, including capital investments.

· Remove worn out pieces and lubricate mechanical parts to maximize overall plant integrity and capabilities.

· Assist with the execution of planned and unplanned shutdowns: provide technical and hands-on support as required during the annual shutdown event each July.

· Comply with all approved environmental, health and safety related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).

· Diligently adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care® requirements, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices in all aspects of your position within the organization.

What Arcanum Requires:

· Working knowledge of safety standards, permitting processes, etc. for rotating and fixed equipment and parts used in and around chemical manufacturing plants.

· Ability to install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair rotating/fixed equipment used in chemical manufacturing industry with confidence.

· Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Teams.

· Ability to read and interpret technical pump drawings, schematics, diagrams, safety procedures, including federal and state OSHA guidelines.

· Must demonstrate safety when using hand and power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools commonly used in maintenance-related tasks.

· Understand the properties, behaviors, and hazards of the equipment with knowledge of machinery overhauls and refurbishment.

· Good organizational skills required, must be able to work independently and if necessary, lead others when required.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or GED.

· Completion of associate’s degree program in industrial maintenance or trade school training is a plus.

· Five years or more of experience as a high level pump mechanic or pump technician with installation and repair in an industrial setting, or chemical manufacturing environment.
