Scrum Master (Contract Opportunity)

Location: West Des Moines, IA
Employment Type : 6-month Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our client's IT development teams. In this role, you will serve as both a coach and facilitator, ensuring Agile and Scrum principles are applied effectively to deliver high-quality software solutions. You'll collaborate closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, empowering self-organization, driving continuous improvement, and promoting transparency and communication across the organization.

Responsibilities

Organize and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Partner with Product Owners to support backlog refinement, prioritization, and delivery planning.

Guide teams in estimating, forecasting, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery of value.

Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues to keep projects on track.

Promote Agile best practices, tools, and standards across teams.

Use metrics and feedback loops to improve team performance and accelerate delivery.

Foster a culture of empowerment, accountability, and sustainable pace.

Collaborate with IT leaders and business stakeholders to ensure project transparency and alignment with business goals.

Qualifications

Associate's degree with 6+ years of business analysis or leadership experience (minimum 4 years in Agile), OR

Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of business analysis or leadership experience (minimum 2 years in Agile).

Proven experience leading cross-functional project teams (Developers, Business Analysts, QA staff, Product Owners).

Hands-on experience applying Scrum/Agile methodologies across diverse projects.

Certified Scrum Master (CSM) strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of Agile principles, SDLC models, and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).

Excellent leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills.

Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.
