Description We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Woodland, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent position within the wholesale distribution industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to key HR functions and processes. The ideal candidate will support various HR activities, including employee onboarding, HRIS management, and employee relations. Responsibilities: - Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time. - Maintain and update HR information systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance. - Assist with employee relations tasks, including addressing inquiries and supporting conflict resolution. - Conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility for potential candidates. - Support HR administration tasks, such as maintaining personnel records and preparing reports. - Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. - Provide assistance during audits and ensure HR processes align with legal requirements. - Organize and coordinate training sessions, workshops, and employee engagement activities. - Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and other HR-related matters. - Contribute to ongoing improvements in HR processes and systems. Requirements - Proven experience in human resources administration, including onboarding and employee relations. - Familiarity with HRIS systems and the ability to maintain accurate records. - Strong knowledge of conducting background checks and employment verification. - Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle various HR functions effectively. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. - Strong communication skills to interact professionally with employees and management. - Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements in HR processes. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
